Inkheart

A movie where if you are a "silver-tongue"  you can bring the book to life.  This is came out on DVD this week.

Inkheart has a huge cast, Brendan Fraiser, Helen Mirren, and Andy Serkis.  All did their jobs in the adventure movie.

The problem I am having is that the movie is forgettable.  I forgot I watched it, when I was searching for my review today.  I watched it a couple of days ago, so I could review it.  The story is cute.

Since it is forgettable, it is a bad movie.

The Wiz

Every time this one comes on TV, I watch it.  Diana Ross; as Dorothy,  Michael Jackson; as the scar crow, and the songs always pulled me in to the movie.

This is one of my go to movies when it is on TV.  I look for it in the TV listings.

I feel a bit like mentioning this gem of a movie today.  Michael Jackson will be missed.  Maybe Disney will bring back Captain EO.

If you want to watch captain EO today, here is a link:

Both are good movies.

Meet the Robinsons

"Keep Moving Forward"  That has stuck with me since I saw this movie.  I always did this, but never had a catchy word grouping.  I think everyone: "Keeps moving forward."

The movie is about two orphan boys, one that wants to see his mother, and another that grew up bitter.  The one that grew up bitter wanted revenge, he lived his life blaming past events for how he was currently.  The orphan boy who wanted to see his mother gets swept into the future that he was the creator of, and learns his own catch phrase, "Keep moving forward."  See the movie, rent the DVD, look it up in your TV listings, the ending is fantastic.

This is a good movie, all should see it.  Walt Disney made a huge impact in a lot of lives, I think this film he would be proudest of.

Ms. Pettigrew Lives For a Day

Ms. Pettigrew, a day, just a day was filmed.  I am sure it took months to make the movie.

This pre-war age was interesting to watch, I wish I had a category for so-so but I don't so this will be filed in bad.  The movie crawled.  For a period piece that was unusual.

Amy Adams shined in her part, but that was about it.  The move is not memorable, it did consume time, but that was it.

So bad movie, if you want a waste of time, watch it.

Star Trek

THEY KILLED AMANDA!!!!

Sorry about that spoiler to the new "Star Trek" movie.  That shocked me.  Amanda, Spock's mom, was not a huge character but one of my favorites.

The new "Star Trek"  brings together the characters of the old TV shows with new actors.  I liked the movie.  I know purists prefer the old cast, but me "Star Trek" is a good story deserving a resurrection.

I won't spoil anymore of the movie.  I also liked Lenard Nimoy's roll in this new film.

It was worth seeing in the movie theater.  A good movie.

Balls of Fury

"Balls of Fury", a movie made in 2007, was never on my radar to watch.  I did yesterday.

This movie about ping pong was not funny.  It had moments where I felt revolted.  Yes, sex workers can be men, but not saying it out right to a guest is just rude.

I guess I am old, but comedies used to be funny.  All the old Mel Brooks movies like "Space Balls", or the Leslie Nelson movies such as "Dracula: Dead and Loving it" would have me in stitches.  I expected to laugh at "Balls of Fury",  it never happened.

This was a sad waist of time.  A really bad movie.

X-Files

X-Files, Creeeeeepy, worth the time.

I watched this yesterday, and loved it.  I hope they do another installment.  The writing was good the acting was of course good.

The plot was about a missing FBI agent, the movie twisted to a sick boy, and the end was not as predictable as I would have hoped.

Good Job!
