Horton Hears a Who

Jim Carey carried this movie to my delight.  I was surprised to like this CG animated movie.

Horton Hears a Who was a classic DR SEUSS book.  One of my personal favorites.

"A person is a person no matter how small."  That is the moral of the story of an elephant hearing the Who's on a speck of dust.

The imagination, the movie and the book encouraged, needs to be in more projects offered to the public.  I am sure Dr. Seuss would be proud.

I would encourage people to see this gem.  It is a good movie.

Sin City

Sat down and watched this gem of a movie last night.  I loved it.

So when has Bruce Willis made a bad movie, I think NEVER!  This black and white with some color movie was filmed with a green screen and scenes were created in the computer.  Nothing new about that now, but the way this was done; fantastic.

I am gushing, I enjoyed this movie a lot.  I liked the characters.  It is a dark movie.

I hope you watch this movie over the holiday, you won't be disappointed.

Running Man

Running Man is about a game show, where convicts run for their lives.  This twisted tale takes you into the game.  Arnold Schwarzenegger starred in this sick adventure.

I watch this movie when I get into a mood.  Sometimes watching people cheer on murder is entertaining.  This movie makes you think.

We watch shows like American Gladiator, Wipe out and Survivor, to watch how people deal with difficult situations.  Shows like Wipe Out have humor built in, but the contestants should not be laughed at when they get hurt.  I have watched those shows too, so I am really not a good person to judge the social problem of them.

Running Man takes those shows to the extreme.  In the movie, the show is the entertainment, the murder in the movie is the entertainment.  I feel a bit icky after watching this stuff.

Running Man is a good movie, because it makes these entertainment issues come to light.

Cinderella 3: A Twist in Time

Cinderella 3: A Twist in Time is a cute watch.  Okay, I admit, after watching this one four times in a row, I can safely say it is a good movie.  This Walt Disney picture was a straight release to DVD.

Children seem to love this picture.  The Evil Step Mother gets a hold of the magic wand and reverses the slipper fitting.  Cinderella has to figure out how to get the Prince with out the help of her glass slipper.

This was cleverly written.

It is a good movie.

The Proposal

I got to watch this quaint movie yesterday.  My first thought going in was 'I am not going to like this'.  I formerly lived in Alaska, and every show/movie that depicted it was totally wrong.

This movie with Sandra Bullock,  Ryan Reynolds and Betty White, depicted Sitka pretty well, not completely accurately but close.

The movie is about a woman about to be deported, so is forced to propose to her assistant. This turned into a pleasant watch.  I enjoyed the eagle and dog scene.

It is a good movie.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen

I went, took my entire six person family, and we left an hour into the movie.  I want my money back.

This movie sucked!

When I am willing to leave a picture, I am bored and uninterested in finding out the ending.

The CG was cool.  That was about it.

The is a squeal and in my experience squeals never live up to the hype.  I had hoped that Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen would be the acceptation.

It was a bad movie, don't waste your money like I did.

Inkheart

A movie where if you are a "silver-tongue"  you can bring the book to life.  This is came out on DVD this week.

Inkheart has a huge cast, Brendan Fraiser, Helen Mirren, and Andy Serkis.  All did their jobs in the adventure movie.

The problem I am having is that the movie is forgettable.  I forgot I watched it, when I was searching for my review today.  I watched it a couple of days ago, so I could review it.  The story is cute.

Since it is forgettable, it is a bad movie.

The Wiz

Every time this one comes on TV, I watch it.  Diana Ross; as Dorothy,  Michael Jackson; as the scar crow, and the songs always pulled me in to the movie.

This is one of my go to movies when it is on TV.  I look for it in the TV listings.

I feel a bit like mentioning this gem of a movie today.  Michael Jackson will be missed.  Maybe Disney will bring back Captain EO.

If you want to watch captain EO today, here is a link:

Both are good movies.

Meet the Robinsons

"Keep Moving Forward"  That has stuck with me since I saw this movie.  I always did this, but never had a catchy word grouping.  I think everyone: "Keeps moving forward."

The movie is about two orphan boys, one that wants to see his mother, and another that grew up bitter.  The one that grew up bitter wanted revenge, he lived his life blaming past events for how he was currently.  The orphan boy who wanted to see his mother gets swept into the future that he was the creator of, and learns his own catch phrase, "Keep moving forward."  See the movie, rent the DVD, look it up in your TV listings, the ending is fantastic.

This is a good movie, all should see it.  Walt Disney made a huge impact in a lot of lives, I think this film he would be proudest of.

Ms. Pettigrew Lives For a Day

Ms. Pettigrew, a day, just a day was filmed.  I am sure it took months to make the movie.

This pre-war age was interesting to watch, I wish I had a category for so-so but I don't so this will be filed in bad.  The movie crawled.  For a period piece that was unusual.

Amy Adams shined in her part, but that was about it.  The move is not memorable, it did consume time, but that was it.

So bad movie, if you want a waste of time, watch it.

Star Trek

THEY KILLED AMANDA!!!!

Sorry about that spoiler to the new "Star Trek" movie.  That shocked me.  Amanda, Spock's mom, was not a huge character but one of my favorites.

The new "Star Trek"  brings together the characters of the old TV shows with new actors.  I liked the movie.  I know purists prefer the old cast, but me "Star Trek" is a good story deserving a resurrection.

I won't spoil anymore of the movie.  I also liked Lenard Nimoy's roll in this new film.

It was worth seeing in the movie theater.  A good movie.

Balls of Fury

"Balls of Fury", a movie made in 2007, was never on my radar to watch.  I did yesterday.

This movie about ping pong was not funny.  It had moments where I felt revolted.  Yes, sex workers can be men, but not saying it out right to a guest is just rude.

I guess I am old, but comedies used to be funny.  All the old Mel Brooks movies like "Space Balls", or the Leslie Nelson movies such as "Dracula: Dead and Loving it" would have me in stitches.  I expected to laugh at "Balls of Fury",  it never happened.

This was a sad waist of time.  A really bad movie.

X-Files

X-Files, Creeeeeepy, worth the time.

I watched this yesterday, and loved it.  I hope they do another installment.  The writing was good the acting was of course good.

The plot was about a missing FBI agent, the movie twisted to a sick boy, and the end was not as predictable as I would have hoped.

Good Job!

He's not that into you, a huge don't watch

"He's not that into you"

I did not like this movie.  It was slow.  Very very slow.

Do not waist your time like I did.
